annecto announces new CFO, Mitchell Wu

After an intensive recruitment and selection process, Mitchell Wu has been appointed as annecto’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Mitchell is a seasoned executive with extensive experience whose career to date has included work as CFO for U.S. multinationals Kodak and Hallmark Cards, Business Manager roles at RACV and Melbourne Water, and contributions to start‐up Bricks 4 Kidz as Director of Children Education Programs.

Speaking about his transition from multinationals to the not‐for‐profit sector, Mitchell said,

Having spent many years in large multi‐national corporate environmentsI couldn’t knock back the opportunity to be part of a leading communityinclusion and social purpose organisation whose values align closely withmine and fulfil a void in my career to date.”

Though Mitchell’s background might be heavily geared toward work in corporate environments, he’s no stranger to the not‐for‐profit and disability sectors – through his start‐up company Bricks 4 Kidz, team members volunteered their time to participate in the annual Good Friday Appeal – Kids Day Out at the Melbourne Convention Centre on Good Friday. As an activity provider, they were able to raise over $10,000 for the Royal Children Hospital.

Additionally, Mitchell runs Saturday morning classes and has worked with groups such as Wildrumpus (based in Geelong) and Melton Go using LEGO Technic building for children with autism and children with disability.

As CFO at annecto, Mitchell will join the Executive Leadership Team and be responsible for leading the Finance team on matters that impact across the organisation. Mitchell sees his role as annecto’s CFO to touch on work across four broad areas:

  • Stewardship of annecto’s financials and assets
  • Strategist with a lens to the future direction of the company
  • Operator fostering an efficient and effective finance organisation
  • Catalyst for driving business improvement initiatives, innovation and best in class practices

My objective in my role as the CFO will be to get the organisation thinking along these principals and fostering an engaging and collaborative environment between all functions and not operating in silos.”
