The Annecto Veterans’ Home Care program recently celebrated its fifth anniversary. Here is an overview of the program and what goes on behind the scenes.
About the program
The Annecto Veterans’ Home Care program (VHC) started in March 2018.
Our VHC program is available to people assessed by the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). If you are a veteran or a war widow/er, you may be eligible.
The program provides support services to DVA-managed individuals. These include personal support, domestic assistance, respite, and home maintenance services, so they can continue to live independently in their own homes.
Annecto currently provides VHC services across different regions in Victoria and New South Wales.
Behind the scenes
In March 2018, Teniinii Bishop-Moller stepped into the VHC Coordinator role as the program began. She worked alongside VHC Manager Alexander Black, and After Hours and VHC Coordinator (Operations) Helmuth Alabarce. Teniinii brought a distinct point of difference to the role with her extensive customer experience as a long-standing member of the Annecto After Hours team.
Four years later, the VHC program now supports 140 veterans and records over 670 hours of monthly service.
The team is also supported by the tireless efforts of Business Support Coordinator Tracey Schoen and new VHC Administration Officer Rubin Itman.
During the move to internalise service delivery using Annecto workers, some workers from the previous outsource partner also joined Annecto to continue their work with the VHC people they supported.
The Annecto Northern and Loddon Mallee regions allocations teams have played a crucial role in the internalisation of the VHC service delivery. They demonstrated outstanding professionalism and support to the VHC team and the people it supports.
On its fifth anniversary, we acknowledge the Veterans’ Home Care program driven by strong Annecto values and a sustainable model. We look forward to the continued growth and development of the VHC program with positivity and purpose.
