NDIS is on budget and on time

The latest NDIS quarterly report data shows the scheme is on time, on budget and participation satisfaction levels remain high. Each quarter the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA prepares a report on its operations for the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Disability Reform Council.

The COAG council met in December 2015 and the results of this meeting have been tabled in this quarterly report.

The data shows:

  • 22,281 people with disability had an approved NDIS plan, at a total cost of $1,521 million.
  • The cost of the average package (excluding residents of large institutions) is $35,450. This remains below the expected full Scheme average of $38,600.

“This puts us in good stead to commence the national roll-out on 1 July which will ultimately support 460,000 Australians with disability, their families and carers to achieve their goals across independence, social participation and health and wellbeing,” explains NDIA Chief Executive Officer David Bowen.
