annecto’s Speakers Bank is participating in this year’s Having a Say Conference, on Wednesday 10 February 2016. This year’s theme is ‘Ready, set, connect!’ With a focus on sharing hopes, dreams and fears and connecting with people who can support you to achieve your goals.

Mimi Laurilla, Speakers Bank Project Manager will be showing how Speakers Bank gives people living with disability or those who experience disability, the opportunity to share their stories with the wider community.

Speakers Bank presenters, Storm Robbins and Kathryn Beaton will be sharing their experience as public speakers and how this role interplays with their personal and professional goals, and what they have to overcome in order to do it successfully.

The presentation is from 11.15 – 12.15pm at Deakin University, Waterfront Campus in Geelong.  A ‘come and try’ session is on at 1.15pm where you are welcome to join the Speakers Bank crew and participate in an activity that puts you directly in the shoes of someone with a disability.

The annual Having a Say Conference gives people with a disability the opportunity to learn about their rights, share their opinions and be heard.
