A celebration of learning for David House graduates

Learning Lifestyle Graduation Day Yarraville Feb 2018 Website

In an event at the Yarraville Club on Monday 12 February, graduates from annecto’s David House learning hub celebrated the successful completion of their studies in literacy and numeracy. The graduates had completed the Course and Certificate I in Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy. These accredited courses were delivered by MediQuest, a Registered Training Organisation, with funding provided through the Skills First Program.

Director at MediQuest, Denise Dawson said “MediQuest wants to give our graduates the same opportunity of recognition and celebration for their achievements as any other student who graduates from school, college or university.”

“For the first Graduation Day, I ordered boxes of the mortarboards for the graduates to wear, thinking we could recycle them. However once the students put them on and I saw the delight on their faces I knew that every graduating student in the future should have their own mortarboard to keep.”

annecto’s Manager, Western Region, Joan Cooney remarked “This day is fantastic, as it brings together family members to celebrate their son or daughter’s learning journey. The inclusive learning environment helps build their confidence and abilities.”
