flexible respite options for carers
Respite provides carers with the opportunity to have a break and spend time with family,
friends, shopping or other social activities. annecto provides planned flexible
respite options for carers of people who are ageing and in need of support, or who
have dementia. Depending on regional availability these options include in-home and
overnight respite, weekends away, day trips and extended holidays with the person
you care for.
Cottage Retreat in Mildura
Carers who live in Loddon Mallee, and the people they care for, can stay at the fully
appointed Cottage style retreat in Mildura as part of a weekend or weekday time-out.
allows carers to:
-
have a much needed break from their usual caring roles.
-
allows carers short and more flexible respite breaks than is normally available in
residential aged care homes.
-
meet unplanned situations, and focus on quality of life, individual needs and maximising
independence.
Other options for carers include being part of special interest groups including Art
Groups, creating Life Books, regular Mens and Ladies' Clubs, or joining the SongBirds, annecto's very
own choir.
Carers can access after-hours and weekend emergency support via annecto Emergency
After-Hours Services (EARS) which facilitates overnight and weekend emergency support
where needed. annecto is also proud to introduce the "Employed Carers" initiative.
Specialised Care and Assistance
Our Support Coordinators are skilled in both dementia and aged care. We work with
carers and families to develop culturally specific, holistic person-centred plans,
supporting people in their homes and to connect with their community.
annecto has strong networks with other organisations such as the Commonwealth
Carer Respite Centres and Aged Care Assessment Teams. These links help to provide
ongoing assistance, referral and liaison to ensure your support is comprehensive,
holistic and uninterrupted.
