national respite for carers program (NRCP)
The National Respite for Carers Program provides respite for carers who are looking after someone who is frail aged or has dementia.
Our Support Coordinators are skilled in the provision of both dementia and aged care. We aim to assist carers and families to develop person centred care plans, (including culturally specific requirements) which meet the needs of clients while they continue to be cared for at home. Our coordinators have strong networks with other aged care agencies such as Commonwealth Carer Respite Centres and Aged Care Assessment Teams, which enable referrals and further supports to be offered when needed.
Our National Respite for Carers Program offers a wide range of flexible services to ensure clients and carers have flexible respite choices. These options include in home respite, weekends away, day trips, overnight respite and center based respite.
Carers on our program also receive after-hours emergency support via the annecto twentyfour7 After-hours Response Team (ART) which facilitates overnight and weekend emergency support where needed.
annecto - the people network thanks the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing for their endorsement of the delivery of our Assistance for Carers initiative.
