Feedback Project seeks the voices of people with a disability
|
An innovative Feedback Project titled Speak, Listen, Learn about, Grow was launched by the
Victorian Disability Services Commissioner Laurie Harkin last Wednesday. Developed by annecto - the
people network; this project aims to improve support for people with a disability, older people and
carers through collecting, providing and acting on both positive and negative feedback throughout the
organisation leading to a culture of continuous quality improvement.

supported at annecto's David House in Yarraville celebrated a successful year's integration
project with Christmas activities held at David House last Monday.

celebrated Cultural Diversity Week in grand style last week as part of Victoria's multicultural celebrations to raise
awareness of our cultural, linguistic and religious diversity in the community and at workplaces.

Major funding boost for community hub
|
Yarraville community hub David House, annecto- the people network's community facility for people with a disability has
been awarded a $600,000 Victorian Government Capital Redevelopment Facility Initiative Grant. The funding will help
David House to create a multi-purpose community facility with spaces suitable for activities including adult education,
woodwork, community kitchen, community garden, IT, multi media and arts rooms, and meeting areas for community
groups.

Supporting disability in the workplace
|
To help celebrate the United Nations' International Day of Disabled Persons, free cake and freshly brewed coffee will
be offered all morning to new job seekers at annecto's Job Connections office in Werribee this Monday 3 December.
Now in their 12th year, Job Connections specialises in assisting around 150 new job seekers with disability each year to
successfully participate in meaningful employment.

Office relocation means more services
|
The Mildura office of annecto-the people network recently celebrated their relocation into larger premises in
Lime Avenue with an official launch including guest visitors Mayor John Arnold, Councilors Mark Eckel, and
Glenn Milne. and a special guest Margaret Slade, the first person supported by annecto in 2002.

Creating opportunities for community connections living longer, living better

Laywer, broadcaster, former politician and 'National Treasure' the Hon. Dr Barry Jones AO will be the keynote
speaker at an annecto event this Monday at the Telstra Dome, addressing national issues on aging, with the theme of
living longer and living better.
