People with disablility

Working alongside you to get the life you want.

Lifestyle choices and opportunities are important to everyone, but people with disability and their families encounter many barriers in their pursuit of choices and opportunities. We are committed to assisting people with a disability to overcome obstacles and achieve their dreams.

The work of annecto may include :

  • identifying hopes and dreams that are important to people through individual planning
  • assisting people to reach their goals, which may include learning to look after their own home, using public transport or doing their own shopping
  • helping people to connect with their own community, while creating, developing and strengthening meaningful friendships and relationships.

annecto believes the local community and people know what they need and want. We work with the community and individuals to identify flexible approaches to support individuals, families and other voluntary carers.

We work with you to design a range of supports that’s right for you

  • practical help at home or in the garden to maintain the home environment you need, to do the things you want to do
  • assistance to find shared supported accommodation, or overnight/weekend or longer stay respite
  • assistance in learning and attending educational or training organisations
  • practical help to do the things you like to do such as playing sport, joining a gardening group, or attending a concert or sporting match.

Importantly, you have access to assistance with planning to further understand what is important to you and what annecto may be able to assist with. This includes linking in with services and community organisations outside of annecto. For example, if you are looking for employment annecto Job Connections provides individualised services to job seekers with disability to successfully find employment. Through Job Connections you may:

  • have more choices to follow what you want to do
  • meet new people
  • gain more financial independence
  • feel proud of what you achieve.
